Ms. Rama Abu Khass

My name is Rama Abu Khass. I was born and raised in Jordan and moved to North Carolina a few years ago. I have always enjoyed working with students and helping them learn more about Islam in a meaningful and positive way.

 

I first started teaching at the Islamic Center of the Triad, where I gained valuable experience of almost 5 years working with students in different programs. For the past two years, I have been proud to be part of Ibn Sina Islamic Academy. I now serve as a Religious Studies Lead Teacher, a role that allows me to guide students in their Islamic learning and help them build a stronger connection to their faith.

 

I am currently studying Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and plan to graduate in December 2026, Insha’Allah. I have also completed coursework in instructional communication, which strengthened my approach to teaching and student engagement. I was also honored to serve on the Undergraduate Advisory Board, which gave me the opportunity to represent students and share my perspective.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring different areas of communication and learning more about how people connect. I also love languages, nature, and animals, especially cats and horses. I speak Arabic and English. As I continue growing in my career, I am excited to continue growing as a teacher and creating a classroom where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
